This diagram shows and explains the coriolis effect
The Coriolis Effect is caused by the Earth's roatation. Objects deflect to the right in the Northern hemisphere and objects deflect to the left of the Southren hemisphere. The object does not actually deviate from its path, but it appears to do so because of the motion of the coordinate system.
